Alana is a musician, actor, music teacher, entrepreneur and tutor who is passionate about working with children and helping them develop to their full potential. She graduated from John Abbott’s Professional Theatre program and continued her studies at Université de Montréal’s music faculty with a specialty in classical voice and opera performance. After university, she spent four years managing corporate sales teams. Although that career path proved to only be short term, the skills she gained working with and managing large groups of people taught her how to adapt to different communication styles when teaching and leading. Those management skills, paired with the creative approach she takes to her own life, have strongly influenced her teaching style. She adheres to the philosophy that each child learns differently and that discovering their individuality is the most effective way to unlock their gifts. She has now begun the journey of entrepreneurship and has recently opened up her own music school specialized in voice and performance skills. Her specialties include (but are not limited to): pre-k and kindergarten, languages (English and French), creative writing, music, mindful living practices and stress management. When she isn’t working on her creative projects or her music school, Alana can be found at yoga class, spending time in nature with her dog, practicing mindfulness or cooking!
