Émilie is a graduate of Concordia University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, through which she has become most interested in Sociology of education. She is planning on returning to school to complete a degree in education in hopes of teaching elementary and middle school. Émilie is perfectly bilingual in both French and English and has over 8 years of experience working with pre-kindergarten and elementary school age children. While completing her degree at Concordia, Émilie was volunteering at Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds tutoring children between the ages of 5 to 12 by providing academic and social support in order to facilitate the social integration of immigrant families. In addition to her tutoring experience, Émilie has worked at Montessori school since 2012 where she taught pre kindergarten children. She created her own curriculum which became popular for it’s science program and was designed to follow each child’s curiosity and develop problem solving skills, confidence and patience through engaging hands on experiences.  Émilie’s comprehensive science program included chemistry, astronomy, geography, paleontology and introduction to cooking for 3 to 8 year olds. Emilie keeps her students engaged and builds their love for learning through her animated personality and her genuine interest in each child’s personality!
