Gacia is a certified elementary school teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Concordia University. Although she intended to become a speech-language pathologist, her path changed when she started working as a substitute teacher in 2011. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Education from University of Ottawa, followed by a Certificate in Inclusive Education from McGill University – all of which were completed with a GPA above 3.5. Aside from teaching, Gacia has over 10 years of experience working as a tutor for elementary-school students, providing homework support and French language support. She also has extensive volunteering experience working with students with disabilities, such as physical and intellectual disabilities as well as speech impairments. Her students tend to love her dynamic energy, her bubbly and quirky personality and her fun, student-centered lessons. In her tutoring sessions, Gacia aims to make her students feel comfortable, encourages them to work and learn at their own pace and to not shy away from asking for further help. She is eager to meet new students and to be the support that they need!
