Giulia is a certified teacher, having completed her degree at Concordia in 2018, with a specialization in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Throughout her education, she has been on the Dean’s List and was the recipient of the Nadia Gagliano Student Teaching Award, which recognizes academic excellence, dedication to community and chosen profession. She has been working for the Lester B. Pearson School Board as a substitute teacher, and taught a split grade 1-2 class. After leading her own classroom, she decided to pursue a Master’s of Education at the University Ottawa in Leadership, Evaluation, Curriculum and Policy Studies, which she recently completed. Giulia’s experience with tutoring ranges from students in elementary with subjects such as English, French, Math and Reading, and students in high school, as a volunteer for a tutoring program developed for the LaSalle Warriors Football team. Giulia has also worked as a camp counsellor for under-privileged kids, through which she developed a great sense of compassion and admiration for her campers. Outside of her passion for teaching, she has been playing soccer for over 17 years and loves to travel, bake, read and take on new adventures. Her experience with kids has helped her develop skills in lesson planning, organization, leadership and communication. She believes it is important to individualize the curricula and use the students’ interest to further engage them in their learning, as to further support them in achieving their educational goals. She is dedicated, enthusiastic, very organized and patient.
