Katelyn is a passionate educator who has always believed that teaching is her life’s calling. She graduated with First-Class Honours in Child Studies at Dawson in 2017 and is currently entering her fourth year of her B.Ed in Elementary Education at McGill with a perfect GPA of 4.0. She has consistently been in the top 10% of her program throughout her academic career, which culminated in her winning the Bourse d’Excellence des Enseignants in 2019. Katelyn is perfectly bilingual and has experience teaching French, History, English, Art and Math across a variety of elementary schools in Montreal through multiple internships and substitute teaching experiences. She also taught English as a second language for two years. Katelyn has lesson planning experience and a passion for making learning fun as she believes it to be the best way to encourage students to become lifelong and successful learners. Through one of her recent internships, she took the initiative to start her own Math Olympic team and lead several remedial reading groups to help students succeed. She always strives to develop a personal connection with every child she works with and best support their unique needs. Katelyn has a patient, energetic and playful teaching style and believes that with the right strategies and support, every child has the ability to reach their maximum potential.
