Melanie is a Graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology at McGill University. She is eager to graduate this year and start her career as a Speech Language Therapist. She has over 10 years of experience working in diverse settings with children of various ages. She has worked at daycares, elementary schools (mainstream and specialized), rehabilitation centers and medical centers. Melanie completed her Bachelor studies at McGill University in Psychology and minored in linguistics and education. Through these experiences, Melanie has had the opportunity to work with children of all ages, both typically developing and with differing impairments (visual, motor, auditory and intellectual), disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder) and syndromes (e.g., Downs Syndrome). She also has 4 years of experience doing research in Autism Spectrum Disorder and the effects of music therapy. Melanie is continuously looking for new opportunities to learn and enjoys sharing this passion for learning with her students. She also loves fine arts and welcomes any opportunity to put her artistic skills to use and provide visual learning strategies to her students. Melanie is perfectly trilingual in English, French and Spanish.
