Sophie is studying Law at the University of Montreal and is passionate about politics, international relations and access to justice. Sophie has always been involved in a diverse range of sports and extracurriculars, assuming roles such as President of her school’s student council and earning the Lieutenant-Governor’s medal due to her involvement and dedication. She also has a particular interest and love for reading and writing, which she explored as the Editor of her school newspaper at CEGEP Jean-de-Brebeuf, where she won a literary critique content and had her piece published in Le Devoir. Sophie is perfectly bilingual in English and French and has an advanced knowledge of Spanish, which she put into practice during a community trip to Peru. Additionally, as an exchange student in Germany, she took German courses and gained a working knowledge of the language. These experiences and exposure to languages have allowed Sophie to learn, first hand, the most effective methods to teach a second language. As an experienced counsellor in a day camp and long time babysitter, Sophie has consistently shown her creativity and dynamic personality. Her goal in working with children, as a tutor or in any of her other previous roles, has always been and continues to be to have fun while learning!
