Steph has completed a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa. She has a decade of teaching experience in mathematics at the secondary level, where she has taught all courses from secondary 1 to 5, as well as acted as a resource teacher to provide additional support to students struggling with the math curriculum. This experience supporting students with unique learning needs led her to move into teaching in the Outreach Network, as well as to undertake a Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning Studies (University of Ottawa), which she recently completed. She is currently teaching in a social affairs high school, putting into practice all of the latest strategies and techniques that she has learned. Prior to doing her MEd, Steph also worked for an EdTech company developing investigative learning activities for teachers and students. This experience provided her with unique insight into content creation that is a strong base for preparing students for the Secondary 4 and 5 Ministry Exams. Steph believes in educating the whole student and helping them to build good work habits that will carry into all aspects of their life. It is her goal that every session be fun and engaging, and that the student leaves feeling more confident in the material and in themselves.
