Vanessa is currently a third year student at McGill University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a result of Vanessa’s strong work ethic and academic excellence, she is currently on the Dean’s Honour List for being in the top 10% of her program at McGill University. She has completed two summer internships as a Project Manager Intern in the Ventilation department at Kolostat Inc., leveraging her strong communication and technical skills. During her studies, Vanessa has been tutoring in different levels of math, from elementary to university level. She has also had the opportunity to be a Tomlinson tutor at McGill University for both Calculus 3 and Partial Differential Equations, where her tasks included peer tutoring, monitoring discussion boards, and hosting her own tutorials. Apart from tutoring, she coached four to seven year olds in soccer for three summers, where she encouraged personal development and team spirit during games and practices. Vanessa is someone who is passionate about her work and will do anything to have her students succeed. As a tutor, she is very patient with her students, and has different approaches for teaching difficult math concepts. As a current student who has experienced both the difficult course concepts and suffered bad teaching, Vanessa believes she can teach the content as well as adapt to the student’s strengths and weaknesses.
