Lucas is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at McGill University studying Mechanical Engineering, and hopes to enter a career in the automotive industry. Before attending McGill, Lucas graduated from an American high school in California at the top of his class, ending with a GPA of 4.5. In his senior year, Lucas became the TA for his school’s AP Calculus class, where he assisted his peers with their math problems and projects, catering to each student’s learning style and approaching each problem with a visual and real world representation to help with the understanding of the content. Lucas specializes in math tutoring for late elementary through high school and CEGEP grade levels. Having taken many math courses throughout high school and into his degree at McGill, Lucas is extremely qualified and well versed in teaching math and bringing a fresh perspective to lessons. Lucas also excelled in his physics, chemistry, and biology courses and loves supporting students in grasping these subjects. Lucas aims to approach any math or science problem with a perspective catered to the student’s strengths and interests, making problems fun and engaging. Outside of school, Lucas is a lead member of the McGill Baja Racing Team, focused on the fuel system and engine of the car. With the team, Lucas helps build an off-road buggy, from the design all the way to the manufacturing of the car, and competes in 4 hour endurance races. Lucas is also a competitive swimmer on a team of college students, competing monthly, as well as an avid mountain biker who enjoys long rides through the forests of Quebec.
