Music
Inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Metallica, Adrian Buccella began playing guitar at age 12 with a rock and metal slant. While this music fulfilled him for a time, he became acquainted with many genres throughout his studies at Vanier College but focused primarily on jazz. Once completing his DEC, he moved to Toronto to further his studies at Humber College wherein he earned an Honours BA in Guitar, once again playing many styles with jazz being a focal point. He won the Ted Quinlan Guitar Award while there and had the great fortune of playing some of Toronto’s biggest stages such as The Rex and The Opera House. Since acquiring his BA in 2020, he moved back home to Montreal and has been busy gigging and teaching both Piano and Guitar. He’s since played some of Montreal’s most esteemed venues and events, like the Montreal Jazzfest. Sharing knowledge impasses Adrian, the foremost testaments to that being the capabilities of his students he’s helped hone over the years. Despite his focus on performance and technique, he is aware that there is a reason it is called “playing music” and not “working music” and aims to have his classes and lessons reflect that. He believes that a significant contributor to a student’s success is the relationship with one’s teacher, which includes ensuring the student’s interests are heard and considered. With that in mind, he always incorporates what his students want from their classes and lessons into his curriculum and works to make sure that his students are equally engaged as they are learning.
