Swimming
Matteo is an experienced and passionate swim coach with over 4 years as a lifeguard, instructor, coach, and aquafit instructor. Currently studying Health Sciences at Bois-de-Boulogne, Matteo has been immersed in swimming for much of his life, including as a competitive swimmer in both high school and CEGEP. For him, swimming is more than a sport—it is a central part of who he is, and he brings that enthusiasm to every lesson. Matteo has taught swimmers of all levels, from beginners to more advanced athletes looking to improve technique and endurance. He has extensive experience with one-on-one lessons, group classes, and private coaching, and currently teaches at Collège Ahuntsic. His very first teaching role involved working with children with special needs and motor difficulties, giving him a strong foundation in patience, adaptability, and individualized instruction. Matteo’s coaching approach is warm, playful, and highly engaging. With younger swimmers, he focuses on building trust first, using conversation, games, toys, and shared interests to help children feel comfortable in the water. With older or more advanced swimmers, he incorporates drills, stations, diving activities, and structured technique work. Certified in NLS, CPR, and lifesaving, Matteo prioritizes both safety and progress. He focuses on strong fundamentals—starting with kick, body position, and coordination—before building toward more advanced strokes and endurance. His goal is to help every swimmer feel confident, capable, and excited to improve.
