Karine is a third-year student at McGill University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in history with a minor in anthropology. She is especially interested in North American Indigenous studies and hopes to earn a Master’s Degree in the field. In her spare time, Karine works as a volunteer guide at the Redpath Museum, as well as an editor and illustrator of its associated student-run journal. She is passionate about sharing her love of history, and she is always equipped with an eccentric historical fact in the hopes of engaging students. Having completed her secondary school education in French, Karine has developed academic skills in both French and English. She is confident in her capacity to assist others in expanding their French second language abilities. With this in mind, Karine believes in creating an open and encouraging environment for students to develop effective reasoning and communication skills. Feeling confident enough to ask questions, in and out of the classroom, is such an important step in achieving one’s full academic potential. It is especially key when immersing oneself in another language. Otherwise, Karine hopes to instill a sense of academic enthusiasm in her students by integrating their interests into lessons. The ultimate goal is to make learning approachable to each student.
